The new Georgian Wine House in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province in South Eastern China, spreads over 4,000 sq m territory, and includes exhibition halls, tasting rooms, a museum and a Georgian restaurant.
"A Georgian Wine House opened in Nanchang where our 8,000-year-old Ambassador started working. Georgian Wine will be very successful in his diplomatic job,”-, said the economy minister. Dimitri Kumsishvili has added that Georgia is interested in deepening political, economic and cultural relationships with People’s Republic of China. According to him, there were up to forty wine houses in different Chinese provinces, and the number may be doubled till the end of the year.
The Chinese-Georgian cultural center and wine house was opened with support of Georgia’s National Wine Agency, Partnership Fund, and Silk Road Investment Company.
According to the data of the last 6 months, in the list of Georgian wine exporter countries, China went up from 4th place to the 3rd. 1.9 ml bottles of wine have been exported to China in the past half of the year, the growth exceeded 148% compared to the similar data of the last year.
The event in Nanchang was attended by the minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia Gigla Agulashvili, Partnership Fund director Davit Saganelidze, Deputy Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili, and other officials from Georgia and Jiangxi. The opening ceremony was attended by over 200 guests.
