12.07.2016 (Hvino News). Wine lovers in China, one of the largest wine export markets of Georgia, got a taste of Georgian wine at several events this week.
Georgian Wine Education Courses
Georgian wine education course was organized in Beijing Education center, Ease Scent Wine Education. The seminar included Georgian wine savor feature, winemaking methods and wine culture introduction. 6 wines of 4 Georgian wine companies (“Bagrationi 1882”, “Teliani Valley”, “Teleda”, “Chateau Mukhrani”) were represented at the tasting seminar.
Each course was organized for 30 students and was lead by the specialists of the Education Center. The seminars were attended by the representative of Georgian wine in China, Maia Tskitishvili.
Tasting at Wine Shops
In collaboration with MaiM9, in Beijing, Ningbo, Shanghai, and Tangshan wine shops and salons, Georgian wine tastings and presentations were organized.
In Ningbo (Zhejiang province), 3 day exposition-tasting of Georgian wine was held in Oriental Plaza. The event was hosted by distribution company, Jade Cellar, which distributes wines all around the world on China market.
Georgian wine exposition was organized in Shanghai O2O exhibition and Luomadadao distribution centers, hundreds of visitors had opportunity to taste Georgian wine. The event held in Beijing for importers of different provinces to introduce and taste Georgian wine was hosted by Georgian Wine Popularization Center office in China.
Georgian Wine and Jewelry Evening
Georgian wine and jewelry evening was organized in Beijing. The event was attended by approximately 100 people. Together with Georgian wine, Cultural and Creative Garden of West Sea 48 introduced jewelry, made by famous Chinese designers, called “The Night for Designers”.
At the event, the jewelry introduction was changed by Georgian wine presentation-degustation, which was lead by wine lover, expert, writer, Mrs.Yao, who spoke about ancient and diverse history and tourism potential of Georgiaa, Georgian wine features and methods of qvevri with great enthusiasm.
China was one of the growing wine export markets for Georgia. This year China moved from fourth to the third largest importer of Georgian wine, following Russia and Ukraine. Last year Georgia exported 2,672,154 bottles of wine to China - 122 percent more year-on-year.
