Losses caused by natural disasters are being counted in Senaki district in western Georgia. Part of Senakihas been evacuated because of flooding. By now water has been already pumped out of the flooded houses. Residents who were evacuated yesterday are being returned to their houses.
The rising levels came after two days of rain in the Samegrelo region. In some places, the water level is higher than 50-60 centimeters. The flood has also killed livestock. No casualties have been reported.
Davit Narmania, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Kakha Kladze, Minister of Energy arrived in Samegrelo earlier this afternoon.
