18.10.2013 (Hvino News). According to the National Wine Agency, 24 companies took part in the grape processing. They say that if in recent years the price of grapes out of which Khvanchkara is made ranged within 5 GEL per one kg, this season a kilo of Mujuretuli and Aleksandrouli grapes costs 7-8 GEL this year.
Due to the high cost, the state subsidy has not applied to Khvanchkara. The law enforcers were monitoring a vintage ongoing process in Racha. According to the National Wine Agency, the reason was to avoid confusion of the species and to get a true Khvanchkhara.
