Sarajishvili doubled brandy output in 2012

10.08.2013. Spirit producer Sarajishvili reported that brandy output amounted to 41,400 dal in 2012. The volume increased 2 times year-on-year.

Proceeds from sale of production and materials totaled in the reporting year to 18.3 million lari, increasing by 30.5% year-on-year.

Net sales of the company amounted to 20.09 million lari, increasing by 43.5%. The company reported net profit of 5.3 million lari (year-on-year growth – 83.9%).

As of January 1, tangible assets amounted to 47.1 million lari, including depreciated cost of fixed property of 13.9 million lari.

Key tangible asset is cognac spirit, which balance cost made up 16.9 million lari. The spirit is stored in 400-600 l oak barrels, and the company had 14,621 such barrels in the reporting period.

Total liabilities amounted by the end of 2012 to 15.8 million lari, decreasing by 7.7% year-on-year.

The report of the company points that alcoholic beverages of Sarajishvili are patented in 41 countries. 18 kinds of brandy, produced by the company, are patented in Georgia.

Brandy of Sarajishvili is sold in 15 countries, including Belorussia, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Poland, Taiwan, Ukraine, the US, etc.

The report says also that the company had planned to start export to Russia in the second half of the year.

However, chairman of National Wine Agency Levan Davitashvili told Sarke that Sarajishvili did not applied for certification to the Agency yet.

To note, before imposition of Russian embargo (2006), 80% of the company’s production was exported to Russia.

Owner of 99.2% of Sarajishvili is Elguja Bubuteishvili.
