President of Georgia is known for his interest in wine-making. In 2011 president Mikheil Saakashvili bought a vineyard in Kakheti region, Eastern Georgia. The vineyard (half hectare area) costed about 20,000 USD. The vineyard has two varieties - Saperavi and Rkatsiteli. The president often uses his vineyard house to host foreign visitors (see, for instance: Foreign ministers of Sweden, Poland, Fiji took part in vintage at Mikheil Saakashvili's vineyard).
