9 medals awarded to Georgian wines at MUNDUS VINI 2017 Spring Tasting

13.03.2017 (Hvino News). 9 Georgian wines have won top awards at prestigious competition MUNDUS VINI International Wine Award 2017 in Germany: 7 gold and 2 silver medals.

The gold prizes were awarded to:

2013 Kvareli Special Reserve Koncho & Co
2013 Saperavi Classical Winery Khareba
2013 Besini Premium Dry Red (Best of Show Georgia) Besini
2010 Saperavi Reserve Badagoni
2014 Bio Saperavi Wine Company Shumi
2013 Mukuzani Koncho & Co
2015 Saperavi Koncho & Co


The silver medals were awarded to:

2012 Khareba (Aged) Winery Khareba
2013 Kakhetian Noble Red Dry Badagoni 


This 2016's Spring Tasting results are better for Georgian winemakers compared to last year's results, when only 4 gold and 7 silver medals were awarded to Georgian wines (read more here)

The MUNDUS VINI International Wine Award is one of the most prestigious wine awards in the world.

The Spring Tasting ended in February 2017 after presenting the Grand Gold medal 33 times, Gold 1,043 times and Silver 1,392 times. Nearly 200 international wine experts from 44 countries spent the four days critically judging almost 6,200 wines from more than 150 wine growing regions all over the world, before then honouring the best of them with the highly coveted MUNDUS VINI medals. This was the highest number of wines from all over the world ever tasted at MUNDUS VINI.
