Gerard Basset OBE, MS, MW, MBA is currently the only person in the world to hold the combined titles of Master of Wine, Master Sommelier, Wine MBA and World's Best Sommelier. Basset was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2011. He was elected by Decanter as 2013 Man of the Year.
On October 29 at the Moscow's "Nostalgie" - one of oldest and best-kbown restaurants - Gerard Basset hosted the gastronomic presentation of Georgian wines. Together with chef Igor Doudkin several specially formulated sets were presented, prepared to best pair with classical Georgian wines Tsinandali, Pirosmani, Kindzmarauli and Mukuzani.
Tamada wine brand belongs to Georgian Wine and Spirits Company (GWS), founded in 1993. The brand's portfolio includes 6 wines with controlled appellation of origin: Tsinandali, Mukuzani, Napareuli, Kindzmarauli, Khvanchkara and Akhasheni.
